Now on to the Very Easy Lemon peel crochet crop top pattern
Lemon peel stitch - this is done by alternating single stitch and double stitch, This simple stitches makes a great texture
The size of this pattern in base on my own measurement. This is a measure as you crochet top. I made it this way so you can make exactly the right size and length you like. This is also made without fastening off.
Materials:
I used rainbow yarn ( available in our country)
hook: 5mm and 4mm
Gauge: I did not make one since this is a measure as you go pattern.
Start with 5mm hook
-Chain 122 ( shorter or longer depending on your size, this is measured under the bust)
-Chain 1, make 1 sc on the back hump of the chain, then 1 dc on the next chain. Do 2 stitches alternating to the end of the row.
(if you check the braid of the chain, turn in towards you and you will see a back hump, insert hook there, this makes a cleaner look and easier for you to add the ribbing. You may watch the Video tutorial if you like.)
-Chain 1, turn, do the opposite stitch of the previous row. Example, if the previous stitch is sc, then we will do dc.
Keep alternating these 2 rows until you reach your desired length of the top. I made mine at 5.5 inches. (You may also wrap it around you and try on) Do not fasten off
-We will now make the ribbing. From the last stitch, make 20 chains (or however short or long you would like your ribbing to be)
Change hook to 4mm
- Chain 1, sc 20 on the back hump of the chain, slip stitch on the next stitch of the body, sc again on the next stich.
- Turn, skip 2 sc, then using BLO, so sc 20 until the end of thee row.
- Chain 1, turn, sc 20 BLO
keep repeating these 2 rows until the end of the body.
Now we are ready to seam the top. Seam either by doing sc or slip stitch. Do not fasten off.
Try on the top and put markers on four stitches where you would like your straps to be.
(I like my seam on the side to make a cleaner look but you may leave it in the back, just make sure the markers are exactly where you like it to be taking the seams into consideration)
Chain 1, sc until the marker, remove marker, chain 80 (or however long you like), chain 1, hdc on the 2nd chain from hook until you reach the body, slip stitch on the base of the strap, sc on the next until you reach the other marker. Do this for all the straps.
Fasten off.
And you are done! Wasn't it so easy? Please keep checking back, I will be posting variations of this very soon.
Thank you for your time, Enjoy crochet and Let's spread the love of crafting 💓
